Dianne Smith
(Director)
Background:
Dianne started her travel career with South African Airways. Her enthusiasm and love for the industry took her through the ranks at SAA including airport duties; reservations; fares & ticketing; training and sales and marketing. After 17 years at SAA she decided that the industry needed a professional training institution that would provide people already in travel with up-to-date and relevant training. She started DTS in 1991.
Role in DTS:
Acting as a facilitator; assessor and moderator Dianne enjoys training airline and travel personnel and imparting her knowledge and experience to both new and seasoned learners. It is always especially good to see a face in the class that was last on a training course 5; 10 or even 20 years ago!
Cheryll Watt
(Director)
Background:
Cheryll started her career with Budget Travel in Commissioner Street, Johannesburg. After consulting for 6 years she was appointed as Operations Manager – Budget Tours. Taking time off to raise a family Cheryll rejoined the Travel Industry and decided to use her experience in another field and joined DTS as a facilitator in 1992. Today as a Director of DTS, Cheryll is committed to upgrading the skills of travel staff.
Role in DTS:
Hands-on, Cheryll is a well-informed, enthusiastic and professional facilitator, assessor and moderator. Using CATHSSETA ethics and standards as her guideline she delivers all training with enthusiasm and passion.
Donna Powell
(Trainer)
Background:
Donna started her career working for DTS in 2000 as a Training Co-Ordinator. As Donna’s passion was working with people in 2001 she moved to Nationwide Airlines which took her through airport duties and reservations. In 2002 she moved to British Airways Comair where she worked in the ticket office for a number of years.
After getting married and moving to Ireland with her family she returned back to South Africa and decided to share her knowledge and love of the Travel Industry with learners that would like enter into industry,
Donna then became an accredited facilitator and continued to lecture the Galileo Reservations as well as Fares courses for DTS. This training was also offered to a number of colleges in and around Gauteng where Donna worked as a freelance trainer.
Role in DTS:
Donna is an accredited DTS fares facilitator as well as an accredited Travelport Galileo and Amadeus Facilitator. She is also an accredited assessor with Cathsseta.
Donna enjoys imparting her knowledge with learners that are wanting to enter into Travel Industry, and with this in mind DTS has endorsed Donna as a Domestic fares, Galileo and Amadeus trainer on behalf of DTS.
